ARSS15/ARSS10 Install and Troubleshooting
The following steps outline the installation and verification process for the safety selector:
STOP: BEFORE CONTINUING CLEAR AR15/AR10 ENSURE THERE ARE NO LIVE ROUNDS IN OR AROUND THE FIREARM WHILE PREFORMING ANY AND ALL SERVICES
TREAT ALL FIREARMS AS IF THEY ARE LOADED
- Preparation
- Unmarry upper and lower receiver, by pushing take down pins out of your Lower receiver. Identifies the two-position safety selector and confirms it is currently set to “safe”.
- Installation
- With the ARSS15/ARSS10 in hand, you want the 2 tallest legs pointed towards the front (hammer) of the receiver.
- The body of the ARSS15/ARSS110 should be inline (Centered) with the Safety Selector.
- When installing the ARSS15/ARSS10, the back leg must be positioned on the backside of the safety selector. Once you have the ARSS15/ARSS10 in the correct orientation, you want to install the ARSS15/ARSS10 ensuring that the “Shorter Leg” of the Activator on the ARSS15/ARSS10 slides behind the Safety Selector. That portion of the Activator must be freely moving with no obstruction /ARSS10 ns, and the front “Lower Leg” of the Activator must be sitting on the rear of the Trigger bar. MAKE SURE THE ARSS15 IS IN NO WAY CONTACTING THE DISCONNECT!
- Once inserted, the component should slightly wiggle front and back of the pocket and move freely. May be a bit snug due to the tolerance differences between lowers, this WILL even differ between lowers from the same exact manufacturer, one may be loose, while the other is snug.
- Once installed, be sure to generously apply your favorite slippery sauce (lube) to any surface that makes contact with each other.
- Assembly and Verification
- With the lever in the up position, the mechanism should close together properly. May need to wiggle the upper a tad bit on tighter uppers.
- A function check is necessary to verify the component operates correctly while in the “safe” position.
- engage the ARSS15/10 by flipping selector with fire are pointed in a safe direction with no one or opjects insight of the backstop and apply light pressure to the trigger. THIS IS NOT A MG, if you pull too hard on the trigger it WILL STOP RUNNING.
- Now that you’re the cool dude at the range. It’s up to you to speared awareness of gun safety, Advanced Resenting Safety Systems (ARSS) and how much fun they can be!
